This Week in Reds Baseball

After losing three out of four to the struggling Washington Nationals last weekend. Letting two leads and a seven-all tie heading into the ninth slip away last Saturday. Arizona heads into Monday three games under .500. Going into this week fourth in the National League West. While the Kansas City Royals have replaced the Reds as the worst team in the major leagues. The Reds go into Monday as the worst team in the National League. The Royals are 17-35 and the Reds are 18-35.

Meanwhile, St. Louis is in hot pursuit of first place in the NL Central. Going into Monday half-a-game behind the division-leading Milwaukee Brewers. College Baseball

Louisville Baseball will take on Michigan today in Louisville at Noon Eastern on ESPN+. The winner will advance to take on No.5 seed Texas A&M. In a best-of-three super regional series this coming weekend. Among other teams of local interest, Wright State was eliminated from contention last week. Meanwhile, Tennessee and Notre Dame will play each other this weekend in the super regionals. The schedule for the super regionals hasn’t been announced yet.

College Outdoor Track and Field

Three Cincinnati Bearcats will participate in the NCAA DI Championship Meet. Taking place at Hayward Field in Eugene, OR this week. The legendary stadium that will host the IAAF World Athletics Championships later this year. Ellie Leather will compete in the women’s 1500-meter race. Leather set a school record with a time of 4:11.33. During last month’s NCAA’s East Regional Qualifying Meet. Leather’s semifinal race is Thursday at 8:46 PM Eastern on ESPNU.

Leonie Troeger will compete in the women’s javelin final Thursday at 9:45 PM Eastern on ESPN3. While Steven McElroy will compete in the men’s 400-meter dash. McElroy’s semifinal race will take place Wednesday at 9 PM Eastern on ESPNU. The NCAA Championship Meet runs from this Wednesday through Saturday.
