NFL Honors

Awards season marches on with the NFL Honors ceremony Thursday in Las Vegas, NV. Cincinnati Bengals center Ted Karras is nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Karras is nominated for his support of the Village of Merici in the Indianapolis area. The village provides resources and community support for adults with disabilities. Karras helps the village through donating the proceeds from custom made “Cincy” hats. This initiative already helped Karras become the first Bengals player to win the Charity Challenge fan vote. Through winning the challenge, Nationwide Insurances is donating $35,000 to the Village of Merici.

This year’s Pro Football Hall of Fame class will also be announced during the NFL Honors ceremony. Bengals legend Willie Anderson is a hall of fame finalist this year. Anderson was a tackle for the Bengals from 1996-2007. He played in four-consecutive Pro Bowl’s during his career. Along with being a first team AP All-Pro three years in a row. If inducted, Anderson will become the third player primarily associated with the Bengals to be inducted. Joining Anthony Munoz and 2023 inductee Ken Riley.
