The Bengals return from their bye week this Sunday. Taking on the NFC West-leading 49ers in one of the highest-profile games of the week. San Francisco is emerging from their first loss of the season. They will face the Minnesota Vikings tonight to wrap up Week 7. Meanwhile, Cincinnati didn’t get help during their bye week division-wise. All of their AFC North rivals won their games last Sunday. Keeping the Bengals from getting a boost in a tight division.
The Baltimore Ravens beat the Detroit Lions in a 38-6 rout. The Cleveland Browns won a back-and-forth game against the Indianapolis Colts 39-38. Plus, the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Los Angeles Rams 24-17. This week’s results aside, this bye week came at a convenient time for Cincinnati. After struggling with injuries and clawing their way to a 3-3 record prior to the break.
FC Cincinnati’s MLS Cup Playoffs schedule
After concluding the regular season with a 2-2 draw at home against Atlanta United. The MLS Cup Playoffs begin this week. FC Cincinnati will face the winner of Wednesday’s Eastern Conference wildcard match. That match features the New York Red Bulls hosting Charlotte FC. In women’s tennis news, Xavier and Cincinnati are competing in the ITA Fall Regional. The event will conclude today in Knoxville, TN. Meanwhile, there will be several conference cross country championships of local interest this Saturday. MSJ’s cross country teams will compete in the HCAC Meet. Saturday in Shelbyville, Indiana’s Blue River Park.
Cincinnati will compete in the Big 12 Championships in Ames, IA. Northern Kentucky will compete in the Horizon League Championship. That meet begins Saturday at 11 AM at the Fairborn Community Lower Park in Fairborn, Ohio. Xavier will compete in the Big East Championships, Saturday at Noon in Kenosha, WI. Speaking of Xavier, the Big East Women’s Soccer Tournament begins Sunday.
Prior to the start of the tournament, Xavier will conclude their regular season on Thursday. Hosting Marquette at 7 PM on FloSports. Xavier will go into this week ranked 20th in the nation. With a conference-leading .778 winning percentage as of Monday morning. Their 19 match points is second to Georgetown’s conference-leading 22.
MSJ Men’s Soccer will conclude their season this week. The team is currently in last place in the HCAC with a 2-13 overall record. Leaving them well short of being in the conferences’ top six. Only the top six teams qualify for the conference tournament. The HCAC Men’s Soccer tournament begins this weekend. MSJ Men’s Soccer will conclude their regular season this Wednesday. Taking on Defiance College in Defiance, OH at 3:30 PM.
Meanwhile, the College Basketball season is quickly approaching. Mount St. Joseph Women’s Basketball will face Wittenberg. This Saturday at 2 PM in Springfield, OH. In Thomas More news, TMU Women’s Volleyball hosts Tiffin University (OH). Tuesday at 6 PM on Great Midwest Digital Network.
