U.S. Open Tennis

The first round of the U.S. Open is underway in New York. Western and Southern Open women’s singles champion Coco Gauff will play Monday. Gauff will play Germany’s Laura Siegemund at approximately 7 PM. W&S men’s singles champion Novak Djokovic will also play tonight. Facing France’s Alexandre Mueller at approximately 8:15 PM.

Defending U.S. Open women’s champion Iga Swiatek will also play Monday. Swiatek will play Sweden’s Rebecca Peterson at Noon. Carlos Alcaraz will begin his U.S. Open title defense on Tuesday. Nine days after finishing as the men’s singles runner up in Cincinnati. Alcaraz will play Germany’s Dominik Koepfer at approximately 8:15 PM.

Cincinnati area natives JJ Wolf and Peyton Stearns will play in the U.S. Open. Cincinnati’s Caty McNally will not be in the U.S. Open due to an elbow injury. That injury caused her to miss this year’s Western and Southern Open. Wolf will play China’s Zhang Zhizhen Monday at 11 AM. Peyton Stearns will play Tuesday at 2:15 PM against Viktoriya Tomova.

Florence Y’alls

The Y’alls will conclude their regular season this week. Florence goes into this week with a 36-54 record. Tied for last in the Frontier League’s West division. The Y’alls will host the Schaumburg Boomers Tuesday-Thursday. With games Tuesday at 6:32 PM, Wednesday at 6:31 PM and Thursday at 6:34 PM.

Florence will conclude the season on the road against the Joliet Slammers. With games Friday at 7:35 PM, Saturday at 7:05 PM and Sunday at 7:35 PM. All Florence games can be seen on FloBaseball.
