MLB All-Star Futures Game

Noelvi Marte will represent the Cincinnati Reds in this Saturday’s Futures Game. A showcase of top prospects that will be part of the All-Star Week festivities in Seattle, WA. Marte was recently promoted to the Triple-A Louisville Bats. After the 21-year-old infielder spent much of the season with the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. The Futures Game will be a seven-inning contest. Between the National League and American League. Saturday’s game is set to start at 7 PM on Peacock and SiriusXM.

CONCACAF Gold Cup Quarterfinals

The United States Men’s National Team will play in Cincinnati this Sunday. Taking on an opponent yet to be determined at TQL Stadium at 8 PM on FOX and Univision. The opponent will ultimately be the runner-up from Group D. Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Canada and Cuba are in that group. All except Cuba are still in contention to advance to the quarterfinals. Group D concludes their group stage matches on Tuesday.

The USMNT won Group A with two wins and a draw. FC Cincinnati player Brandon Vazquez scored two goals for the USMNT during the group stage. One in the opening game on June 24th against Jamaica. The other happened in last night’s 6-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago. Vazquez’s FC Cincinnati teammate Matt Miazga is also part of USMNT’s Gold Cup roster. TQL Stadium will also host a quarterfinal match Sunday at 5 PM. The opponents for that match haven’t been determined yet.

Wimbledon

Three Cincinnati area natives will compete in Wimbledon, Tennis’ third grand slam of the year. Which runs from now through July 16th in England. Mason, OH natives JJ Wolf and Peyton Stearns are making their Wimbledon debuts. While Madeira, OH native Caty McNally makes her third Wimbledon appearance. McNally played her first-round ladies singles match today against Great Britain’s Jodie Burrage.

Wolf began gentleman singles play today against France’s Enzo Couacaud. Stearns is set to begin her tournament today against the Czech Republic’s Marketa Vondrousova.
