College Sports
Northern Kentucky and Miami (OH) Softball will compete in the NCAA Tournament. This will be NKU’s first NCAA Division I Tournament appearance. NKU advances to the tournament after winning their first Horizon League championship last Saturday. This is part NKU Softball’s best season in their NCAA D-I era. The program experienced it’s first two no-hitters in the D-I era among other achievements.
While NKU is experiencing a season of firsts. Miami (OH) Softball is continuing a recent stretch of success. This year, Miami won their fourth consecutive regular season Mid-American Conference title. Along with their second-consecutive MAC Tournament championship. This will be Miami’s seventh NCAA Tournament appearance.
Northern Kentucky will compete in the Knoxville, TN regional. Featuring No.4 seed Tennessee, Louisville and Indiana. Miami will compete in the Evanston, IL region. Featuring host No.12 Northwestern, Kentucky and Eastern Illinois. The double-elimination regionals will take place from Friday through Sunday. NKU’s opening game against Tennessee will be Friday at 5:30 PM on ESPN+. Miami will play Kentucky Friday at 1 PM on SEC Network.
Preakness Stakes
The second leg of horse racing’s triple crown is this Saturday. With the 148th Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD. This year’s Kentucky Derby winner Mage will compete in the Preakness. Forte, this year’s Kentucky Derby favorite prior to race day will not compete in the Preakness. After being scratched from the field on Derby Day due to a bruised foot.
Saturday’s Preakness Stakes TV coverage starts at 1 PM on CNBC. Then it switches to NBC at 4:30 PM, post time is set for 6:50 PM. Preakness coverage will also be available on NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app and Peacock.
2023 PGA Championship
Golf’s second major of the year will take place at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY.
