Cincinnati and Xavier’s Track and Field teams will compete in two of America’s most prestigious relays. Cincinnati will take part in the Penn Relays. Running Thursday-Saturday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, PA. Xavier will compete in the Drake Relays in Des Moines, IA. The Drake Relays will also run from Thursday-Saturday. Both schools will also be represented in the Clark Wood Invitational. Taking place Friday and Saturday at Owsley B. Frazier Cardinal Park in Louisville, KY.
Miami University will also host a track and field invitational this weekend. Thomas More will be among the participants in the Redhawk Invitational. Taking place this Friday and Saturday in Oxford, OH. Rounding out the local college track and field beat. Mount St. Joseph will compete in the Heartland Conference Championships. This Friday and Saturday at Franklin College in Franklin, IN.
In local tennis news, Xavier’s women’s team is celebrating their third-consecutive Big East title. Xavier beat Creighton last Sunday in South Carolina. Winning their program’s fourth overall Big East title. Northern Kentucky’s tennis teams will compete in the Horizon League championships this weekend. The championships will take place in Ann Arbor, MI. NKU’s women’s team will face Milwaukee Friday at 11 AM. The men’s team will face Tennessee Tech at 3 PM.
In golf news, NKU’s golf teams are competing in the Horizon League Championships. Continuing today and wrapping up Tuesday in Lake County, FL. Also happening today and Tuesday, Thomas More’s Men’s Golf team will contend for the Mid-South Conference championship in Bowling Green, KY. Xavier’s men’s team will compete in the Big East Championship. Occurring Friday through Sunday in Hardeeville, SC. While Mount St. Joseph will compete in the Heartland Conference Women’s Golf Championship. Running Friday through Sunday in Defiance, OH.
Rounding out the local college conference championship pursuits. Thomas More will compete in the Mid-South Conference Baseball Tournament this weekend. Hosting No.9 seed Bethel University (TN) Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game is set to start at 3 PM, Saturday’s games are set for Noon and if necessary 3 PM. All games in this series will take place at Thomas More Stadium in Florence, KY.
